Community guidelines
These guidelines apply wherever we meet: in the Impact Storytelling Collective, on cohort calls, in workshops, at in-person events and in replies to the newsletter. They come down to one idea: treat people and their stories with care.
Last updated 31 October 2026
Be kind and respectful
Disagree with ideas, not people. No harassment, bullying, discrimination or hate, online or in person.
Keep what’s shared here, here
Don’t screenshot, record, quote or repost what someone shares without their permission.
Get consent before sharing other people’s stories
That includes the people your organisation works with. Remove names and details that could identify anyone who hasn’t agreed.
Keep people safe
Don’t share anything that could put someone at risk. If you’re worried about someone’s safety, tell me privately. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
Share, don’t sell
Share what you’ve learned. Don’t pitch or message members to sell to them unless they’ve asked.
Ask before photographing or recording at events
Some people don’t want to be identified, and that’s their choice.
07
Look after yourself
Some stories are heavy. You can step away, mute a thread or leave a session at any time.
08
If something goes wrong
I’ll usually have a quiet word first. For serious or repeated breaches, I may remove posts, or remove someone from the Collective, a cohort or an event, in line with the terms. To raise a concern, email privacy@ogston.com or speak to me at the event.
